Praise Him in Advance Lyrics ~Marvin Sapp

“Praise Him In Advance”
I’ve had my share of ups and downs, times when there was no one around,
God came and spoke these words to me, praise will confuse the enemy. [repeat 2x]

I started singing, I started clapping, I started dancing, people were laughing,
they knew my problems, they knew my pain, but I knew God would take them away.

I have my share of ups and downs, times when there was no one around,
God came and spoke these words to me, praise will confuse the enemy. [repeat 2x]

I started singing, I started clapping, I started dancing, people were laughing,
they knew my problems, they knew my pain, but I knew God would take them away.

That’s why I praise him with my hands, that’s why I praise him with a dance,
He’s given me a second chance, come on let’s praise him in advance.

That’s why I praise him with a song, when things are right and when they’re wrong,
He’s given me a second chance, come on let’s praise Him in advance.

Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him
Praise Him in advance.

Everything He Promised-Lyrics ~Dorinda Clark-Cole

The journey’s been rough,
Lord, knows it’s been tough, but you’re still here.
Friends turn their backs and walk away
Left you without much to say, but you’re still here.

God’s going to do everything He promised.
Said, the Lord is going to do everything that He promised you.
God is going to do everything He promised,
In just a few days you’re going to see Him make a way out of no way for you.

The battle’s been long,
But through it all, you’ve been made strong and you’re still here.
You didn’t think you’ll make it through your night,
It’s a wonder how you survived, but you’re still here.

God’s gonna do everything He promised,
Said, the Lord’s going to do what He promised.
God’s gonna do everything He promised,
In just a few days you’re going to see Him make a way,
You’re gonna see Him make a way…

The God we serve is no liar, He is a promise keeper;
So get ready for your breakthrough, ’cause God is gonna bless you.
They that sow in tears, they’re gonna one day reap in joy
Those that sow with tears, they’re gonna one day reap in joy, so rejoice…

.
(Rejoice, rejoice).

Get ready, get ready,
Get ready it’s harvest time.

Are you ready, are you ready
To receive what God promised us?

Keep praying, keep praying,
Keep praying ’til you see God.

Keep hanging on, keep holding on
To your promises, don’t let go.

He will do it, He will do it,
He will do it ’cause He promised it.

Don’t give up, don’t let go,
What He promised, He will perform.

Don’t give up, don’t let go,
He will do it ’cause He promised it.

Don’t give up, go all the way,
You’re almost there.

Trust In You

You did not create me to worry
You did not create me to fear
But You created me to worship daily
So I’mma leave it all right here

Help me say yeah (You did not create me to worry) no
You did not create me to fear
But You created me (but you created me to worship)
That’s what you made me for, yeah (daily)
(So I’mma leave it all right here)

My hands are raised (my hands are raised because I surrender)
Your will is what’s is best for me (your will is what’s best for me)
Oh, I worship You (I worship you because You’re Jehovah Jireh) you’re Jehovah Jiren
I bow before the King of Kings

Oh, I’m saying (No more crying, no more complaining)
I believe Your word is true (I believe your word is true)
I believe your word is true, Lord
(Lord You promised never to leave me lonely) You promised never to leave me
So this is what I’m going to do (do this is what I’m going to do) Oh, Lord

(I will trust in You Lord) yes, I will
(I will trust in You Lord) I’ll trust in you, I will put me
(I will put my trust in You) yeah-yeah

(You did not create me to worry)
(You did not create me to fear) You did not create me to fear
(But You created me to worship daily) you created me to worship You
So I’mma leave it, I’mma leave it all right here (So I’mma leave it all right here)

My hands are raised, oh (my hands are raised because I surrender)
Your will (your will is what’s best for me)
Oh (I worship you because You’re Jehovah Jireh) because you’re Jehovah Jiren
(I bow before the King of Kings) I bow, I bow before the king of kings

No more crying (No more crying no more complaining)
Not fit for crying, not fit for complaining, Lord
(I believe Your word is true)
Oh Lord, you promised never (Lord You promised never to leave me lonely)
To leave me lonely, so this is what I’m going to do (so this is what I’m going to do)

(I will trust in You Lord) I know you’re a healer
I know you will keep me Lord (I will trust in You Lord)
You are my shelter, You’re a world-make (I will trust in You, Lord)
(I will put my trust in You) so I will put my, yes I will put my trust in You
I’ll put my trust in You

You did not create me to worry
You did not create me to fear
But You created me to worship daily
So I’mma leave it all right here

(I will trust in You) trust in
(I will trust in You) trust in you, Lord
(I will put my trust in You) I will put my trust in You

Anthony Brown & Group Therapy – Trust In You Lyrics

Inflammation: Friend or Foe?

Inflammation can be your worst enemy while trying to be your best friend.

Merriam-Webster defines inflammation as “a local response to cellular injury that is marked by capillary dilatation, leukocytic infiltration, redness, heat, and pain and that serves as a mechanism initiating the elimination of noxious agents and of damaged tissue.”

Medicinenet.com defines it as “A localized reaction that produces redness, warmth, swelling, and pain as a result of infection, irritation, or injury. Inflammation can be external or internal.”

So although inflammation occurs to protect you it ends up causing many other problems for you and your body.

There’s acute inflammation and chronic inflammation. Acute inflammation occurs rapidly and escalates quickly. It can last from 1-2 days or even up to a few weeks. A few examples of when acute inflammation may happen is:

  1. Injury to the body (a scratch, a fall, a blow, exercise)
  2. Acute Sinusitis
  3. Acute Dermatitis
  4. Infected Ingrown Toenail
  5. Acute Bronchitis
  6. Acute Appendicitis
  7. Acute Tonsillitis
  8. Acute Infective Meningitis
  9. Allergies

Chronic inflammation can occur gradually but lasts for several months…even years. This can result from not purging whatever caused the acute inflammation. It can also be caused by exposure to irritants, chemicals, as well as an autoimmune response where the immune system attacks your body mistaken it for disease causing bacterium, viruses, or microorganisms. A few examples of diseases/conditions that include chronic inflammation are:

  1. Chronic Sinusitis
  2. Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
  3. Rheumatoid Arthritis
  4. Chrohn’s Disease
  5. Chronic Periodontitis
  6. Tuberculosis
  7. Lupus
  8. Diabetes
  9. Psoriasis
  10. Allergies

There are many other things that contribute to overall inflammation like stress, lack of sleep, and eating certain foods. Yes, the food we eat can cause inflammation! Foods high in Omega 6 fatty acids such as processed vegetable oils, grains, fast/fried/processed foods are some of the inflammation causing culprits.

Not sure if you have inflammation?  Some symptoms are:

  1. Red/Itchy Skin
  2. Memory Loss/Forgetfulness
  3. Abdominal Issues (Bloating/Flatulence/Diarrhea/Constipation/Indigestion)
  4. Itchy Eyes/Ears
  5. Painful/Stiff/Swollen Joints or/and Muscles
  6. Fever/Chills
  7. Skin Issues (Rash/Hives/Acne/Itchy/Rough/Dry/Scaly)
  8. Fatigue
  9. Allergies/Infections
  10. Excess Weight
  11. Water Detention
  12. An Autoimmune Disease (caused by excessive inflammation)

People often treat their inflammation with supplements/vitamins, prescription and/or over the counter medications (anti-inflammatory) such as:

  1. NSAIDs (naproxen, ibuprofen, and aspirin)
  2. Acetaminophen
  3. Corticosteroids
  4. Glucocorticoids
  5. Mineralocorticoids
  6. Serrapeptase
  7. Magnesium
  8. Zinc
  9. Vitamin D
  10. Probiotics

*Before trying any medication or supplement…consult with your doctor first!

Now let’s get back to the food. If you decrease or eliminate certain foods more than likely you will see a decrease and for some maybe even complete elimination of the inflammation along with the symptoms associated with it. Let’s start with the top inflammation causing foods:

Let’s start with the top inflammation causing foods:

  1. Trans Fats
  2. Sugar
  3. Gluten (Bread/Pasta)
  4. Grains (Wheat, Rice, Corn)
  5. Alcohol
  6. Omega-6 Fatty Acids
  7. Dairy (Milk, Cheese, Ice Cream)
  8. Nightshades (White potatoes, Peppers, Eggplant, Tomatoes)
  9. MSG
  10. Processed Foods & GMO’s
  11. Vegetable/Hydrogenated Oils

You may not be willing to give up all or even any of these foods. If you suffer from acute or chronic inflammation, you should definitely give it a try. Start with eliminating at least one and try it for at least a month. Keep a journal documenting what you eat and have eliminated as well as the symptoms (and their severity) you have before, during, and after eliminations.  Your best bet and quickest results will come from eliminating all of those foods for a few months until all symptoms are gone and then gradually reintroduce the foods one at a time to see if the inflammation/symptoms return.

There are foods, herbs and other lifestyle changes that can help reduce your inflammation such as:

  1. Blueberries/Strawberries
  2. Green Leafy Vegetables
  3. Turmeric/Ginger
  4. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  5. Omega 3 Rich Oily Fish
  6. Avocado
  7. Beets
  8. Broccoli
  9. Celery
  10. Chia Seed
  11. Coconut Oil
  12. Walnuts
  13. Bone Broth
  14. Pineapple
  15. Spices (Ginger/Rosemary/Turmeric/Oregano)
  16. Antioxidants
  17. Allergen-Free Diet (avoiding those foods you are allergic/sensitive to)
  18. Yoga/Deep Breathing
  19. Regular Exercise

Now that you suspect or know that you have inflammation, what are you going to do about it?

In Count Down Mode – Vacation On the Way!

Greetings Gems!

It’s been a minute since I’ve written a blog but I promise I will get better with this.

In the meantime, I’m at work and it’s 3:00 am.  I am waiting for what I call “the bell to ring” at 5:00 am.  I am excited and anxious at the same time because DH and I are leaving for a long awaited vacation to Punta Cana in 2 more days!  The last official vacation we went on was a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas in 2012.  In 2015 we drove to PA and spent the weekend.  Last year we visited Georgia but it was to witness a family member graduate from college.  So in 2 days it will be all about DH and I and we will be gone for 6 days.

We booked our vacation through a site called Bookit.com.  They had some great package deals.  The one we choose included the hotel, travel, and we added some activities to our deal.  I also found a promo code from coupons.com and made my Bookit purchase through Ebates.  Using those methods enabled us to save $150.00 on top of the savings for the package deal.  Every little bit counts right?

Spirit is the airline that Bookit used for our travel.  Prior to making the reservation, we had never heard of Spirit.  Apparently that was the cheapest flight for our trip so we took it.  It wasn’t till after I received my confirmation that I realized it was the cheapest for good reason.  Spirit Airline is completely basic.  They allow you to bring one item on board and that’s it.  If you wish to bring a carry on bag or check any bags, you have to pay for each of them.  You also have to purchase your bags in advance or be charged a higher fee at the airport.  They also do not feed or give you any drinks.  They have something on board but you would have to purchase it.  I was slightly discouraged of the news about the airline but reservations were made and we intend on enjoying our trip so we will do what we have to do.  I’ll let you know when we get back how everything turned out.

We will be staying at Barcelo Bavaro Beach-Adults Only.  BBB-AO is 1 of the 4 properties of Barcelo Bavaro Grand Resort.  There’s also Barcelo Bavaro Palace, Premium Level at Barcelo Bavaro Palace and the Family Club at Barcelo Bavaro Palace.  We are able to use the facilities of each as far as the daily activities, cuisine, sports, and more.

DH and I have been super busy wearing a few hats.  He wears twice as many as I do. This is definitely a needed break for both of us.  This break is needed so much that I already have big plans when I come back.  I expect to be rejuvenated.  I intend on putting into action several unfinished plans and projects that I’ve procrastinated on.   I already feel like I am going to hit the ground running when we land back here in our hometown…from my DH and my photography business, my blog, my FB group and pages to planning my 50th celebration and next vacation (hopefully to Hawaii).  Maybe I’ll even start my book…at least get the outline started.

“Sometimes it’s important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it’s essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow.”  ~Douglas Pagels

When was your last vacation and do you feel as though it made an impact on your life?

To Book or Not to Book-It’s Still Debatable

Yesterday, I was discussing my health issues and journey with a healthy protocol I “was” following with my Dentist yesterday and he told me I should write a book. I told him that he wasn’t the first person to tell me that. He said that he wouldn’t be the last.

He told me that God’s Whisper is real. He really does want us to move closer to Him but even when we get closer sometimes we still don’t listen nor do what is requested/required. That’s when He will use other persons, things, or situations to get His point across.

I told my Dentist I agree for the most part about God’s Whisper and yes I should do whatever to get closer to Him…to hear Him.  🤔However, I’m not sure what that has to do with me writing a book about my health issues and healing journey/protocol…especially since I’ve relapsed for the last 4 months anyway.

Today, my Primary Doctor told me the same thing…I should seriously consider writing a book about my health experiences. She said she doesn’t understand what I’m waiting for since I could probably help a lot of people out there seeking better health naturally. 🙄

Well, I can’t guarantee the book anytime soon but I am presently working on my fb group https://www.facebook.com/groups/515120775543721/ and my blog. Before I even seriously consider the book, I have to get myself totally back on track so that nasty brain fog won’t be a hindrance.

Maybe…maybe not.

When was the last time God spoke to you through someone else?

Spaghetti Squash-Instant Pot

I got an Instant Pot for my birthday last year and I love it!  You can get yours here… http://a.co/e0XShCt20161103_172640

There is so much you can do with it.  You can use it to pressure cook, slow cook, steam, sautee, make yogurt and so much more.  I will share plenty of things you can do with it throughout my blog.

Today I want to tell you how simple it is to prepare a whole spaghetti squash in it.  The best news is that it takes less than half the time in the Instant Pot than it does in an oven!

What you will need:

  • Spaghetti Squash
  • 1 cup of water
  • Instant pot w/the steamer insert
  • A paring knife
  • A spoon

20161103_171458

Lay your Spaghetti Squash on a cutting board.  Cut it in half with the pairing knife.  I find that using the pairing knife is easier to cut the squash.  Just dig the knife in and cut all the way around the Squash.

Scoop out the seeds with the spoon.

Place the steamer insert in the Instant Pot.

Pour the cup of water in the metal bowl of the Instant Pot.

20161103_171439

Add both halves of the Squash into the Pot…cut side facing up.

20161103_172347

Lock the lid making sure it is sealed.

20161103_172557

Set Pot to Manual, High Pressure, 7 minutes on the Pot.  It will take at least 5 minutes for pressure to build up before the 7 minutes of cooking time begins.

Do a quick release…turn the vent to release all the steam.

Remove lid and test the texture of the Squash with a fork…taste/chew some.  If it’s not tender enough, add 1-2 more minutes in the Pot.  If it’s your desired texture, use the fork to make spaghetti noodles.

Add your oil, butter, sauce and/or seasonings or add cooked squash to your desired recipe.

How does the Instant Pot save you time?
